Repair Classes

Due to popular demand, Woodcock Cycle Works will be offering bike repair courses this coming winter as well. WCW bike repair course will follow the Park Tool curriculum that has been tried and tested all around the world by other bike shops and thousands of people who have taken the course.

Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bike Repair is the “textbook” for the course. The classes will be two hours long, one class per week and there will be seven classes with an option of adding eight class if necessary.

Class topics:

1 Introduction to the course, basic bicycle maintenance, tires and tubes. Bike washing.

2 Pedals, cranks and bottom brackets. Installing and removing parts and necessary adjustments.

3 Hubs, rear sprockets and chains. Install and adjustment.

4 Wheel Truing. Truing, tensioning, dishing. Introduction to wheel building.

5 Brakes, rim brakes, cable and pad installing and adjusting. Disc brake adjustment and pad change.

6 Derailleur systems. Installment and adjustments.

7 Handlebars, stems and headsets. Installment, positioning and adjustments.

The price for the repair course will be $185 including the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bike Repair. Class size will be limited to four (4) students.

Classes will start on Monday October 27th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Advanced courses will follow after basic course.
